#BBNaija2018: Leo And Tobi Clash Over Alex (See What Happened)

Big Brother Naija 2018 housemates, Tobi and Leo have clashed over female housemate, Alex.
Leo on Friday night took his complaint to Angel, Cee-c and Ifu Enaada, on how Tobi came in between him and his strategic partner, Alex.
Leo, who seems to have developed feelings for Alex, said Tobi came in where he was having discussion with Alex and held her in his (Leo’s) presence.
Leo told other housemates, he said:
“I don’t understand. How can she say she likes me and yet is very free with other guys?
“How many times do Bam Bam and Cee-c allow other guys touch them the way Alex allows everyone touch her?
“How can Tobi just come in and start holding her in my presence?”
The new pairing by Big Brother pits Leo and Alex as strategic partners and they have been also caught making some sexual contacts.
Alex cried all night as she tried to explain to Leo that there was nothing between her and Tobi.
Alex told Miracle who tried to console her, she said:
“He (Leo) said I held Tobi in his presence and abandoned our discussion.
“He said no other girl is being touched in this house as I’m touched by the guys.
“He said I’m too playful with the boys but that’s my personality. I have tried to explain to him that there’s nothing going on between me and any other guy in the house but he won’t listen.”
This is truly double wahala.

2019 Election: Buhari Already Has 12 Million Votes On Ground – Former Petroleum Minister

A former Petroleum Minister, Chief Don Etiebet, has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari has 12 million votes already ahead of the 2019 presidential election.
He said that Buhari’s chances of re-election were very bright, citing the pattern of voting across the country that will favour him.
In an interview with Vanguard, the Chairman of Akwa Ibom APC Caucus highlighted some of the achievements of the president, adding that nobody in the country can match Buhari’s base of support.
He said:-
“He [Buhari] has created an atmosphere of fear for people not to be as corrupt as before. Look at what is happening in the case of Treasury Single Account (TSA); all of those trillions of Naira in the bank now through the TSA, where was it before?
“Public servants were taking all the money and nothing was saved. The country has been able to come out of recession because President Buhari has been able to get these monies that would have been looted.
“The Minister of Finance the others went to New York and said that the former government left an empty treasury and the people so accused have not come out to say they didn’t up till now.
“And you have also heard about all the monies looted in the Ministry of Petroleum. You have heard about all the monies looted in the Ministry of Defense which were meant to fight Boko-Haram but they didn’t use them.
“The Bible says ‘seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all other things shall be added unto you.’
“The Kingdom of God to reposition Nigeria for economic growth is to bring corruption to zero level. It may not get to zero level but can be reduced to a level that can allow development.
“So many things have to be reprogrammed, restructured and repositioned for the country to progress and you cannot achieve that overnight.
“But President Buhari has laid the foundation for achieving that and that is why I am supporting him. Since 2003 when President Buhari first entered the presidential election, he has had a base of support that you cannot dismantle.
“Nobody in this country can match Buhari in that base. Mr. President has a base of 12 million voters and, whatever people say, cannot be dismantled.
“In 2003, go and check the records, 12 million votes; 2006, 12 million; 2014, 12 million; 2015, 12 million, plus the top up from the South –West that didn’t vote for him before; like Kano which was PDP before, and Jigawa that was PDP before.
“Second, in 2003 the three southern zones, during election time under former President Obasanjo, declared only 880,000 votes for Buhari and declared over 12 million votes for Obasanjo. I was there and I stopped the announcement of the results because I said it was not proper and correct.”

Kids Should Not Be Locked In Cells – Falana Blasts Buhari Again

Human rights activist, Femi Falana, has again called on the Buhari government to investigate the abuse of human rights concerning the prolonged detention without trial of over 3,000 terror suspects in Giwa Barracks, Maiduguri, Borno State.
The legal luminary wondered why children were being locked in cells under suspicion of being terrorists.
Falana asked the government to arraign all the suspects indicted in terrorist activities, while the innocent ones should be released from custody without any further delay.
The senior advocate, in a statement on Saturday, urged the government panel to direct the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation to liaise with the Chief of Army Staff on the arraignment and release, and also to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of many of the suspects in custody and recommend the payment of compensation to the affected families.
He said:-
“Pursuant to section 35 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended any person arrested shall be arraigned in court within 24 hours if there is a court within a distance of 40 kilometres.
“If investigation is not concluded and the person cannot be brought to court within the stipulated period of 24 hours the detaining authorities are required to apply to a magistrate court for a remand order in line with the provisions of section 293 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.
“We have established that over 3,000 terror suspects including children have been subjected to detention for several months in Giwa Barracks, Maiduguri, Borno state without trial. In spite of the attention which the prolonged detention of the suspects has attracted the federal government has not taken any concrete action to restore the fundamental rights of the victims to personal liberty” he stated.
“In fact, both the Amnesty International and the Panel set up by the Chief of Army Staff have confirmed that the detainees are held in dehumanising detention facilities. Consequently, several detainees have died in the overcrowded cells. Not surprisingly, the Boko Haram sect had attacked the detention centre for the purpose of releasing the suspects. In the process of repelling the insurgents some of the suspects were killed.
“In strict compliance with the Geneva Conventions and International Humanitarian Law the detaining authorities ought to have recognised the categories of the detainees and not lumped them together in custody. In other words, direct participants in hostilities; civilians who are indirect participants in hostilities; and civilians who are non participants in hostilities ought to have been kept in separate detention facilities.
“Worse still, children were kept together with adults in the same cells. Thus, by failing to distinguish between civilians and combatants involved in terrorist activities the principle of distinction which is a corner stone of International Humanitarian Law was violated by the federal government which is a party to the Geneva Convention.
“Since the suspects have not been charged with any criminal offence whatsoever many local and international human rights agencies have repeatedly called for their release from custody.
“However, the calls have fallen on deaf ears even though no explanation has been adduced for detaining the suspects without trial. To that extent, the detention of the suspects cannot be justified under section 35 of the Constitution and article 6 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act (Cap A9) Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004” he added.
“In view of the foregoing, this Honourable Panel should investigate the circumstances of the death of many of the suspects in custody and recommend the payment of compensation to the affected families.
“Furthermore, the Panel should direct the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation to liaise with the Chief of Army Staff with a view to arraigning in court all the suspects who have been indicted in terrorist activities while the innocent ones are released from custody without any further delay. Although the trial of the suspects has since commenced in Minna, Niger State let us join in the campaign to end official impunity in the country,” Falana concluded.
